The BRAD® impact protection casing for filters

The BRAD® is designed to provide mechanical protection for SPI PETRO-PIT® filters and pre-filters against accidental impacts that may occur during operation and maintenance activities around transformers, containment systems, and drainage equipment.

The protective casing can be installed both on new SANERGRID® containment systems equipped with SPI PETRO-PIT® filters and on existing installations already fitted with filtration systems. Its design also allows for use on photovoltaic containment skids, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) installations, concrete pits, and more generally on any installation requiring additional mechanical protection for filters.

Protective Housing for SPI PETRO-PIT® Filters and Prefilters

The BRAD400® helps reduce the risk of damage to the PVC threaded heads of filter cartridges and prefilters in the PETRO-PIT® range, which are particularly exposed to accidental impacts during operation or maintenance activities.

By protecting these components, the housing helps limit the risk of premature deterioration of the filtration system and contributes to maintaining its tightness and hydraulic performance. It also helps secure maintenance operations around containment tanks and transformers, thereby contributing to maintaining the nominal service life of the filtration systems.

This protection is particularly suitable for installations where operators regularly work near filtration equipment, especially around transformer bunds, photovoltaic skids, BESS platforms and concrete pits with heavy traffic for inspections, maintenance, handling operations and visual checks.

Applications of the BRAD® 400 Protective Housing

Depending on the country, applicable local regulations and operating conditions, installing a containment system beneath electrical transformers may be recommended or even mandatory in order to limit pollution risks associated with accidental leaks of hydrocarbons or dielectric fluids.

This requirement applies in particular to photovoltaic installations, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), containment tanks and photovoltaic SKIDs that may contain polluting fluids.

In the field, the performance of a filtration system also depends on its mechanical integrity over time. Around transformers, containment tanks, photovoltaic installations and BESS systems, operators frequently carry out inspections, maintenance operations, handling activities and visual checks. This increases the risk of damage caused by accidentally stepping on the filter cartridges.

Before Installing the BRAD® 400 Protective Housing

Before installation, your containment tank must be equipped with a filtration system from the PETRO-PIT range.

Quick Installation of the BRAD® 400 Protective Housing

• The edges of the housing must be slightly spread apart to allow it to be fitted onto the filtration kit.
• The BRAD is positioned between the elbow and the prefilter.
• The BRAD is then held securely in position on the kit.
