Description

The E/COVERBIRD silicone cover is made of high-temperature vulcanized silicone, designed to fit all types of bushings on HV grid electrical transformers. These insulating covers prevent animal-caused faults on substation and distribution equipment up to 35 kV phase-to-earth.

 

E/COVERBIRD are flexible and adjustable for easy assembly and disassembly, without leaving residues or the need to cut electrical connections. They can be easily disassembled, use no plastic, or glue, and install without heat-shrink.

 

Description of the E/COVERBIRD AVIFAUNE range from Midsun®:

  • High-temperature vulcanized silicone compound
  • Standard color grey, other colors available on request
  • Insulation rating: up to 35 kV phase-to-earth
  • High resistance to UV, arcs, ozone, dielectrics

 

Silicone’s natural hydrophobicity and superior UV and chemical resistance guarantee durability beyond 30 years.

 

We offer two references depending on the dimensions of the insulator to be protected.

Use and maintenance

Before installation:

Make sure the Avifaune product and the device are clean.

 

Installation:

  • Place the cover on the unit.
  • Close the cover by inserting the retaining clips into the holes in the cover and pulling until they click into place.
  • Cover the insulator so that there is no possible contact between phases and earth.

Failure to follow good operating practices and to deal with field anomalies and defects is the responsibility of the equipment owner.
