GALVAGRID® PYLON™ Galvanic protection for electrical pylons

0,00

Galvanic protective coating for new and old high-voltage towers and electricity pylons for C5H protection

GALVAGRID® room-temperature galvanizing coating is an organic formula of 99.995% pure zinc, forming an electrochemical bond. This technology, applied to the treated surfaces of telecom towers and electricity pylons, forms an active couple with the base metal, creating an electrolytic bond, resulting in a potential comparable to hot-dip galvanizing.

Description

Description

GALVAGRID® PYLON™ room-temperature galvanizing coating provides cathodic protection up to C5H or C5HV or CX equivalent, even in saline environments. The GALVAGRID solution doubles the standard service life of new hot-dip galvanizing on power grid structures such as telecom towers and electrical pylons.

GALVAGRID® PYLON™ is used to double the life of standard new hot-dip galvanizing or give a second life to high-voltage towers or communications antennas that are starting to rust without dismantling them. This is known as room-temperature galvanizing. This technology was used exclusively by NATO military forces from 1954 to 2003. Since 2003, we have built up many international references in the private sector, in energy, shipping, petrochemicals, transport, etc. SYNERDIS is the European representative for the electrical energy sector.

The advantages of GALVAGRID® PYLON™:

  • GALVAGRID is not a paint: this galvanic coating enhances the self-healing properties of hot-dip galvanizing on metal structures.
  • GALVAGRID is extremely resistant to scratches, abrasion and rubbing, unlike a paint-type coating.
  • Can be applied in the workshop or directly on site
  • Follows thermal expansion and metal deformation, without cracking
  • Can be overcoated with most paint products (mainly epoxies and urethanes): it can therefore be used as a primer
  • Technology capable of bonding perfectly with the old hot-dip galvanizing and/or metallizing and then recharging the cathodic protection potential: this is known as room-temperature Galva recharging.
  • Even extends corrosion protection resistance up to C5H on new hot-dip galvanizing: DUPLEX™ SYSTEM.

Use and maintenance

Before application:

Make sure the application surface is clean and free from zinc oxide, loose rust and/or corrosion (scale), oil, grease, or other chemical contamination.

Application of GALVAGRID PYLON:

Apply GALVAGRID® directly to existing galvanized or metallized surfaces, or to steel freed of brittle rust and scale. The product is ready to use for application by brush, roller, spray gun or air less.

Please refer to the user manual for further details.

Failure to follow good operating practices and to deal with field anomalies and defects is the responsibility of the equipment owner.
